Learn More About You

The 16PF is based on an entirely different personality theory than the Myers-Briggs®. The 16PF was developed from the work of Dr. Raymond Cattell and his factor analysis over 45 years ago. Instead of four, there are 16 different scales that measure things like anxiety, liveliness, dominance, sensitivity, perfectionism, openness to change, group-orientation, and more. The factors are further grouped together into global factors: self-control, anxiety, extraversion, independence, and tough-mindedness. There are two versions of the 16PF here: the Interpretive report and the Career Development report. You can see sample reports below. The 16PF is often used for personnel selection and development, career planning, and more. (Click here to see the client list).

Two different 16PF Reports: Career & Interpretive

Is finding or changing your career your main focus now? Learn about how you can cope with stressful conditions, your interpersonal interaction style, your preferred organizational and leadership roles and work settings, as well as your career fields and occupational interests. All this and more can be found in the Career Development report.

The Interpretive report shows your scores on the 16 personality scales as well as the five global factors of Independence, Anxiety, Self-Control, Extraversion, and Tough-Mindedness. Finally, this report has a list of occupational interests and Holland theme scores, similar to those on the Strong®.

How independent are you? Find out!

We all need a certain level of independence, and we all have different amounts. The 16PF report will help you understand how you current behavior affects your interpersonal and work relationships. Or perhaps you are more of an accommodating person. How does that affect your life? The Interpretive report can help answer that question as well.

Leadership - Do you have it?

You can find out more about this trait and career and occupational interests with the 16PF Career Development report below.

Get a career action plan

With the 16PF Career Development report, you'll have worksheets that help you put your plans into focus. You'll start with your personal strengths as outlined by your report, then review organizational roles and work-setting preferences, then move into career interests, and ending with your goals and action plan. Many people find a structured list helps them clarify those points that have hindered them in the past.
